CERTIFICATE QUALIFICATIONS

RII20115 – Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation

The RII20115 – Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation course is designed for those trying to enter or newly employed in the civil construction industry who wants to gain the skills needed to improve their performance and opportunities for progression in the workforce. It is also suitable for new workers and job seekers.

Our course provides a foothold into the growing Civil Construction industry. Our course opens the door to a range of exciting job opportunities from local government to domestic or large scale construction.

Civil Force Training has rolling enrolment intakes into our civil construction courses. Enrolments can be completed at any of our main office or one of our Skills Training Centres. For Group enrolments Civil Force Training can organised a convenient time to visit your work-site or office .

Who is this course designed for?

The course duration is over a 6 month period (12 training days)

Costs and Course Fees: 

This course is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. Eligibility criteria applies. Government Funding for Course Fees is to be determined by the outcome of the Skills Victoria Eligibility criteria. Individuals with disabilities should seek advice about applying.

Course Structure

As required by the packaging rules, to successfully complete the RII20115 Certificate II in Resources & Infrastructure Work Preparation, the student must demonstrate competency in 9 units of competency which consist of:

  • 3 Core units
  • 6 Elective units

2.     RIIRIS201D – Conduct local risk control
3.     RIIENV201D – Identify and assess environmental and heritage concerns
4.     RIICCM201D – Carry out measurements and calculations
5.     RIISAM201D – Handle resources and infrastructure materials and safely dispose of nontoxic materials
6.      RIISAM203D – Use hand and power tools
7.     RIIBEF201D – Plan and organise work
8.     RIICCM203D – Read and interpret plans and specifications
9.      RIICOM201D – Communicate in the workplace

There are no pre-requisites for this qualification or for any units in this qualification, including electives

  • Elevated work platform General Construction
  • First aid accident and incident reporting
  • Alcohol and drug policy
  • Hazards & consequences of lack of risk control
  • Working at heights (including scaffolding)
  • Hazardous substances and dangerous goods
  • Electrical safety & fire prevention
  • Manual handling and Noise

Students receive national recognised industry qualification ticket and Nationally recognised qualification, the RII20115 Certificate II in Resources & Infrastructure Work Preparation. Students must achieve nine (9) units of competency consisting of Three (3) core units & six (6) elective units.
